February 16th

And then we had even more snow! Didn't get to work for a week. Our mains water pipe froze when we had temperatures of minus 15, and we had no running water for a week. We melted snow for washing up and flushing the toilet, and washed at the kitchen sink in boiled snow water ... good job we had so much snow! We couldn't get the car up the road to the school, so walked the children to school for a week (40 minutes there and back). Gareth's car was stuck at the bottom of the track for over a week, he only got it up again when the weather warmed slightly and we hacked away the massive slabs of ice that had formed under the snow.

Still haven't got any bathroom photos to show you - but I am told it will be complete in the nextfew days ... Where have I heard that before?? I have taken a coupleof pictures of our house from the other side of the river, though, which are in Latest Photos with the rest.

May 19th

Thank you to everyone who sent Ben cards and presents for his birthday - can't believe he's 10 and Tomos is now 11! I've updated the Latest Photos page with pictures of Ben's birthday and also of our Easter holiday when we stayed with Granny and Grandad at Applewood.

March 26th

The weather has finally warmed up and I've managed to plant some potatoes in our new vegetable patch. The bathroom is virtually finished - it has taken much longer than we anticpiated, but such is the way of things! Builders live in their own time zone which is completely different to everyone else's! Here are the 'before' and 'after' photos of the bathroom:
